Presentation Outline: 6th Grade OHSAA Meeting

Participation Overview

Participation in Hillsdale athletics is a privilege. Student-athletes are expected to uphold positive standards on and off the field, representing their team, school, and community with pride.

Approved Sports – Grades 7 & 8

Fall: Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Cheer
Winter: Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Wrestling, Cheer
Spring: Track & Field

OHSAA Structure:

  • Coaches → Site Manager → Athletic Director → Principal

Final Forms Registration

Final Forms opens June 1 for the upcoming school year: hillsdale-oh.finalforms.com
Families must complete all required forms, including:

  • Emergency Medical Authorization

  • Athletic Handbook Acknowledgment

  • OHSAA Preseason Meeting

  • Concussion Acknowledgment

  • Eligibility Form

  • Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness

  • ImPACT Testing Consent

  • Fan Conduct Policies

Scholastic Eligibility

To be eligible:

  • Students in Grades 7/8 must pass 4 classes

  • Incoming 7th graders are exempt for fall

  • Eligibility is reviewed every 9 weeks

Training Rules

Expectations apply year-round:

  • during season
  • offseason
  • in uniform
  • out of school

Disciplinary consequences may include removal for conduct violations.

Transportation

  • Students must ride the team bus/van to events

  • May return with a parent/guardian if permitted by the coach and a note is provided

Attendance

  • Students must be present in school to participate in practice or games

Out-of-Season Rules

  • Set by OHSAA, including designated no-contact periods

Uniforms

  • Issued and collected by coaches

  • Should only be worn on game days or during school hours

Hillsdale Athletic Booster Club

Supports athletics through meetings, fundraising, and volunteering.

Ticket Information

  • MS WCAL Events: Free (except tournaments)

  • Non-League MS Events: May charge

  • HS Events: $8 Adults, $4 Students

  • Buy Tickets

  • Sports passes available
