JEROMESVILLE, Ohio —

WE ROSE. WE FOUGHT. WE CONTINUE TO TAKE FLIGHT!

Dear Hillsdale Community,

As we close another unforgettable football season, the scoreboard may say we came up short, but everyone who wore navy and gold, cheered from the stands, or supported our Falcons in any way knows the truth: we won something far bigger.

We won an experience of a lifetime, twice!

Athletes: This season was a journey built on dedication, heart, and grit, one where you shattered records, shattered expectations, and proved what is possible when belief meets hard work. You earned the right to compete on the biggest stage in Ohio high school football, not once, but twice. Finishing a season in December in Canton is something most teams will never experience, yet you achieved it in back-to-back years. That accomplishment, born from countless hours of preparation and relentless determination, is a victory that will be remembered for a lifetime, and your season will forever be etched into Hillsdale history and Hillsdale pride.

Band and Cheerleaders: The marching band and cheerleaders were with the team every step of the way, an extension of the athletes and a vital part of the team. They didn’t just stand on the sidelines; they fueled every moment with energy, pride, and devoted support. Their rhythms, their voices, and their spirit pushed us forward when we needed it most. They motivated our athletes, lifted our families, and united our community. Their presence wasn’t just heard, it was felt. They are truly an essential part of what makes our Falcons soar, investing countless hours of time and energy to lift our athletes, our school, and our community higher.

Students: These moments created pride, unity, and excitement that go far beyond anything a scoreboard could ever show. From Friday-night lights to the send-offs that brought our whole school family and our community together, wrapping our team in encouragement and belief, you poured your hearts into this team. Your cheers in the stands, your high-fives in the hallways, your support in the classroom, and your enthusiasm throughout the community lifted our athletes every step of the way. The marching band and cheerleaders were with you every step of the way as an extension of the team, a part of our Hillsdale Difference. Your spirit was contagious, inspiring, and absolutely unforgettable. You lived loudly and proudly, which is what it truly means to be a Falcon.

Coaches: Your leadership, preparation, and unwavering commitment to building strong, resilient young men made this journey possible. From youth leagues to high school, you guided the team, believed in them, and stood beside them through every high and challenge. You celebrated their triumphs, carried their worries, and pushed them to be their best on and off the field. You gave our players and our entire community something powerful to hold onto—a belief in hard work, a standard of excellence, and the reminder that being a Falcon means giving your heart to something bigger than yourself. We are deeply grateful for all you pour into these young men and into Hillsdale.

Staff: Thank you for the countless ways you helped make this season—and every season—a success. Your commitment shows up in early mornings, late nights, extra duties, hallway supervision, bus loading, event planning, classroom flexibility, and the steady encouragement you offer our students every single day. You celebrated our victories, steadied us in challenging moments, and created an environment where our athletes and student body could thrive. Your dedication is the foundation of everything we accomplish. Thank you for giving your hearts, your time, and your steadfast belief in our students. We are grateful to you always.

Families: These weeks were filled with joy, anticipation, nerves, pride, and memories that will be cherished for a lifetime, but the truth is, your commitment didn’t begin this season. It has been years in the making. From youth football fields to middle school games, from early-morning practices to late-night drives, you have poured your hearts into these kids and this program. You showed up through long miles, cold nights, busy schedules, and every emotion in between. Your cheers echoed across stadiums, your encouragement fueled our athletes, and your unwavering belief in our kids wrapped this entire journey in love and support.

And Falcons don’t just play the game—we take flight.
We take flight in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, in our careers, and in our community. We rise together every single day. Even though the scoreboard didn’t fall our way, our spirit, our pride, and our determination remained true to our team and the Hillsdale community.

We are not done. We are not finished.

The foundation built over the years, the championships, the hard-fought seasons, the milestones reached, the memories made, the moments of unity, the deep breaths before every competition, and the loud cheers afterward continue to shape who we are. This year’s accomplishments join a long line of achievements that define Hillsdale pride and pave the way for future victories. Every season, challenge, and opportunity ahead will be guided by what our community has built and the expectations we proudly carry forward. The lessons learned, the standards set, and the pride ignited through the years will continue to lift our Falcons as we rise into whatever comes next.

Our Falcons will continue to take flight in every arena of life. And together, as one Hillsdale family, we will continue to soar.

Thank you for believing. Thank you for supporting. Thank you for being Hillsdale.

And buckle up; this ride is far from over. There is much more to come.

Sincerely,

Dr. Catherine Trevathan
Superintendent
