Hillsdale Boys Basketball Makes History: First Regional Title Sends Falcons to State Final Four

JEROMESVILLE, Ohio — One point. One moment. History made.

With a nail-biting 58–57 victory over Heartland Christian Academy, the Hillsdale Falcons captured the first regional championship in program history, earning their first-ever trip to the OHSAA State Final Four.

In a game that came down to the final possession, the Falcons showed composure, grit, and teamwork, hallmarks of a postseason run that continues to raise the bar for Hillsdale basketball.

A Historic First

Friday night’s win marks a defining moment for the program:

• First regional championship in school history
• First appearance in the OHSAA State Tournament

After securing back-to-back district titles, the Falcons have now broken new ground, advancing further than any team before them.

State Semi-Final Information

Hillsdale will compete in the OHSAA Division VII State Semi-Final at Wright State University’s Nutter Center.

Event Guidelines

  • All guests will pass through metal detectors
  • All guests and items are subject to physical inspection upon entry.
  • Bags must be clear (12"x6"x12") or 1-gallon resealable
  • No access to the court at any time

Prohibited items include:

Firearms, weapons, noisemakers, laser pointers, signs (including fat heads), school banners, pennants, noise-making shakers (pom-poms), talcum powder, confetti, balloons, food, and beverages

The Hillsdale community has been a driving force behind this run, with energized student sections, and families and alumni filling the stands.

Each game has felt bigger than basketball, a reflection of the pride, unity, and support that define Hillsdale.

Now, the Falcons take the court with a state championship within reach.

Looking Ahead

With momentum on their side and history already made, the Falcons will look to continue their postseason success on the state stage.

The next chapter begins Friday, followed by the state championship on Saturday, March 21, at 4:15 PM at the University of Dayton.
