7–8 Girls Cross Country Team Wins WCAL Championship

JEROMESVILLE, Ohio – Our 7th and 8th-grade girls cross country team capped off an incredible season by winning the WCAL Championship on Saturday, October 11.
The #FALCONflock ran with determination and teamwork, securing the league title with impressive performances throughout the race. Leading the way, Laney Baker finished first overall with a time of 13:16.60, while teammates Anna Raubenolt and Elise Raubenolt followed close behind, placing 2nd (13:27.64) and 5th (13:47.13), respectively.
Coach Tiffany Smith praised the team’s dedication and resilience, noting the season’s growth and the strong finish for all runners. A special shoutout goes to Izzy Schaad and Hayden Young, who set personal records, ending the season on a high note.
The championship win is a fitting conclusion to the middle school season and sets an inspiring example for all Hillsdale athletes.
The team’s success also builds excitement for the high school runners, who will compete in the District meet this Saturday, October 18, at Lorain County Community College. Girls race at 10:00 a.m., boys at 10:45 a.m.
